Reflection 3 Introduction to the Internet and issues in Media and Technology (Part1)

       What was the task?

In this lesson, we looked at Net-Ettiquet or "Netiquette"

    Outline step-by-step instructions in how to complete the task.

    1. The teacher started by giving us prompts which led us to defining the following:

a. Netiquette- An acceptable code of conduct which guides behavior on the internet.
    b. Internet- Global Communication Network
    c. Email (Electronic Mail)- An electronic way to personally communicate with others. 


2. We then moved on to "Rules or Codes of Conduct governing Emails". 


These rules were: 
 Always 
a. Address using a greeting
b. Use an appropriate closure
c. Utilize appropriate grammar and checking autography.
 Re-read and check for errors.
d. Be sure to use the appropriate content for the subject in question.
e. Acknowledge the receipt of emails.
f. Be aware of your tone of voice. 
g. Have an appropriate email address.
h. Use font type, font size and fonts considerably with the receiver in mind. 

       -We further learned to create a signature for our email.


   
    What were the challenges faced in doing the task, if any, and explain how were they overcome?

I believe tat the main challenge I faced was creating the signature for the e-mail.



    Were there anything new learnt,as a result of the teaching and learning experience? If yes, what was it, and explained how you benefited from it. 

I learned how to create the signature for my email address. 




    Explain how you will use/implement what was covered, in the lesson, in your classroom.


    I could use this lesson to teach my students the importance of being respectful whilst using the internet.
