- What was the task?
The task set out for this lesson was to identify the different learning styles and also the theories which have been put forward by 3 different schools over the years.
Outline step-by-step instructions in how to complete the task.
1. The first thing we covered was Howard Gardener's 9 Categories of Multiple Intelligence's.
2. The second task was to identify the different learners which were:
a. Visual Learners
b. Verbal Learnersc. Sequential Learners
d. Global Learners
e. Sensual Learners
f. Active Learners
g. Intuitive Learners
h. Reflexive Learners
3. The third task was to pin-point the 3 MAIN Learning Styles
Learning was defined by psychology as a relatively permanent change in behavior that arises from experience or practice.
The learning theories that we went through are shown in the video below.
a. Constructivist Theory of Learning
b. Cognitivist Theory of Learning
c. Social- Psychological Theory of Learning
What were the challenges faced in doing the task, if any, and explain how were they overcome?
I think the tasks wee very much straight forward so the did not pose any difficulties for me.
Were there anything new learnt,as a result of the teaching and learning experience? If yes, what was it, and explained how you benefited from it.
Due to the fact that I did Psychology prior to doing this course, I was familiar with the content that was covered however, I can say that the lesson acted a a reinforcement for me.
Explain how you will use/implement what was covered, in the lesson, in your classroom.
I think I can implement what I covered into the classroom by utilizing Mr Gardener's theory of Multiple Intelligence's to identify the various types of learners within my classroom while using the different theories to act as a guide in understanding the cognitive and behavioral patterns of the children I teach.
