What was the task?

Step 1
Search Blog.com

Step 2
Sign in using Gmail address

Choose theme

Create welcome page to desire then publish the page by clicking "publish".

Step 5

For the welcome page to be viewed, we had to click on Layouts in the side bar then we clicked 'Edit' under 'Gadgets'. By doing this we made our page viewable by clicking a check box and saving then clicking save. After coming out, we then clicked save              again so that everything will be saved and our page created. 

Step 6 (The following class)
The next step was to create another page to place our first reflection. We clicked on 'Pages' in the sidebar and selected new page. 

Step 7
We then had the opportunity to write something on the blank page which was presented then clicked update.

Step 8

From there we went back to the home page and selected the small box next to our first reflection and clicked publish. 

Step 9

The next step was to go into 'layouts' on the sidebar and click edit under the gadget tab. 

Step 10

We then clicked save in the dialogue box which popped up. The box disappeared and we then clicked save again for the page to be available for viewing.  

Step 11

We then had to add authors to our page by virtue of accepting or sending an invite or adding a person's gmail address from our contacts. Once the invite was accepted , the author was added and would be able to view the page.

 Step 12
Our next task was to add a comment to the Welcome page of the author we invited. This was simply done by typing in the comment box under the welcome.  

What were the challenges faced in doing the task? If any, and explain how they were overcome. 

 I think that my main challenge was in doing the invite because firstly, the person I invited could not accept my invite due to an error. Secondly, my invite was accepted by Mrs Roberts however, I could not view hers because her original invite was sent to my 

Hotmail address which wasn't compatible with the email content. This was all overcome by implementing the 3 P's (Patience, Practice, Perseverance). I tried over and over until I succeeded.

Were there anything new learnt, as a result of the teaching and learning experience? If yes, what was it, and explain how you benefited from it.

I learned how to create a functioning blog and how to add authors to my blog. I also learned how to change themes for my page and also know to make other adjustments to the page.

Explain how you will use/implement what was covered in the lesson, in  your classroom. 

I believe that I can implement this by using a blog as a way of communicating with my students and providing fun new, technological ways for my students to learn.
