What was the task?
Through a whole-group discussion, create a PowerPoint for a specific subject, grade and using a topic which falls under the subject area chosen.
Outline step-by-step instructions in how to complete the task.
We first added the grade, subject name, topic, sub topic and name of presenter to the cover page.We then created the first page which was entitled "Types of Vertebrates". After this we created A page for each type of vertebrate mentioned and for each vertebrate mentioned, a page for their characteristics was created. After all these pages were finished, we created a closing page for the PowerPoint. Throughout the PowerPoint we added Transitions, Animations, Designs and various formats to enable text and pictures to move, be hidden, become bigger or smaller, add pictures and change the presentation of the document on a whole.
What were the challenges faced in completing this task? If any, how were they overcome?
In this exercise, I did not encounter any difficulties. Though I did not participate much in the exercise, I knew how to utilize the software from prior experiences.
Were there anything new learned as a result of the teaching and learning experience. If yes, what was it and how did you benefit from it?
In this exercise, I learned how to utilize entrance and exit and the use of hide and reveal for words and pictures.
Explain how you will use or implement what was covered in the lesson, in the classroom.
I will utilize PowerPoint's in my classroom when wanting to teach a topic without the customary use of "Chalk and Talk".
